Goodcover: Building an Organic Content Foundation

Goodcover, an insurance startup specifically focused on renters, had a tiny content presence on their website. Production had stalled due to lack of clear direction and management. I was brought in to build out the content strategy and drive organic traffic. My goal was to establish their presence in the crowded insurance marketplace.

As Communications Lead, I implemented project management, keyword research strategies, and SEO optimization best practices to achieve these objectives. I found a niche in renter-focused content like maintenance tips, laws that affect renters, and weekly recaps of news affecting renters. I also used AI tools to pull real-time trending topics from Reddit and Youtube to create quick-hit content aimed at answering renters’ most relevant questions.

Results:

  • Achieved a consistent 5,000 monthly visitors to Goodcover’s blog

  • Drove a 4% conversion rate, exceeding industry standards

  • Garnered 22 first-position Google ratings, 22 featured snippet results, and 138 first-page rankings (non-branded keywords)
